CourGo Packaging and Labelling Guidelines

While in transit, your package will be handled multiple times and may have other parcels stacked on top of it. Your packaging must be strong enough to withstand the rigours of courier transportation. Insufficient packaging increases the risk of damage during transit and may prevent you from claiming compensation.

CourGo can help ensure your package is secure—please review the criteria below and visit our packaging guidelines page for detailed instructions.

Parcel Packaging Standards

  • Always use a new, rigid box with intact flaps, strong enough to support your goods (see Box Strength Guidelines).

    • Over 10kg: double-lined corrugated box

    • Over 30kg: triple-lined corrugated box

    • Over 40kg: rigid wooden box or pallet

  • When using a pallet, declare its dimensions at the point of booking. Some carriers, such as UPS, do not accept pallets and may remove them if used. Declaring the dimensions ensures our system only provides quotes for couriers that accept palletised shipments. Failure to provide pallet dimensions could affect your claim in the event of damage.

  • Remove all previous labels and markings from the box.

  • Use strong shipping tape to secure all joints. Apply tape three times in both directions across the box and seams.

  • Use adequate cushioning material to completely fill the box, leaving no empty space and preventing movement inside.

  • For large fragile items, such as electronic equipment or machinery, the product should be fully suspended inside the box using moulded polystyrene specifically shaped for the item. Ensure items do not touch the box walls.

  • Wrap all items individually. Do not wrap the outer packaging with paper or plastic, and do not use string.

  • Use a single address label with delivery and return information on the outside of the box, and place a duplicate label inside the package.

  • For packages over 70kg, goods must be palletised.

  • CourGo does not provide a removal or lifting service. Goods must be accessible for vehicle loading via a tail-lift.

Quick Overview

Use sturdy packaging, add plenty of cushioning inside the box, wrap your item securely, and seal the box tightly.

Parcel Labeling Standards

You can either print the shipping label or email it to yourself or someone else.
Shipping labels can be printed using any laser printer.
CourGo usually provides two copies of the shipping label for each parcel; the spare label should be handed to the collecting courier.
Attach the shipping label to each package using a Documents Enclosed Pouch.
